Mia Mella's 1st Blog - Halloween Candy Leftovers

Hey, Girlfriend!

It's Me! Selena, owner of Mia Mella Boutique and your local hot mess mama. Years ago my husband and I went through a very tough season with our very first pregnancy resulting in the hardest time of our lives. During that time, I documented our journey on a blog for a long time and after awhile it was hard to keep it going even with the encouragement of friends and family asking when my next post would be. I really enjoyed it though and have always wanted to get back to it and so I thought it would make a super fun addition to my website and group. A place to share things I'm obsessed with, fun updates and some great things for our local mamas too!

So for my very first post, lets talk about how I cheated on my diet by 7AM.....Hand to forehead! Got to LOVE that Halloween Candy!!! Seriously, there is too much candy in this house! It's so excessive. I don't need it and my 5 and nearly 2 year old certainly don't either!

Here's THREE ways to get that temptress chocolate out ASAP:

1. Operation Gratitude/Dentist Buy Back: Many dentists throughout the US offer a buy back of candy $1 for a pound! Woot, the best part?! Most donate it to the troops or Vets through Operation Gratitude or Angel Soldier! You can search for Candy Buy Back Locations by zip code here: http://www.halloweencandybuyback.com/ or donate directly search here: https://www.operationgratitude.com/express-your-thanks/halloween-candy/

Local to Mia Mella? Here is a local business offering a Candy Buy Back with Operation Gratitude!

November 6th (2 P.M. - 5 P. M.) - Cherry Valley Family Dental

38761 Cherry Valley Blvd Beaumont, CA 92223

2. Order some generic Holiday cards for your kids to hand out to anyone and everyone in December, stuff 'em and store 'em away until December. SERIOUSLY! The candy is not going to go bad between now and then and if its in an envelope in a box on a shelf, you aren't going to eat it....and if you do we have another problem Charlie Brown! I like these ones on Amazon because they have some more neutral options if you don't want all Christmas specific ones and they come with envelopes. Good Bye to 45 pieces of candies or 3500 calories of fun size snickers!!

3. Baking! Thanksgiving is just a couple of short weeks away and you can totally put some aside out of sight and out of mind away for it! M&M's are a good one for cookies, brownies, rice crispie treats!!! So many options for checx mix even with those pretzel handing out houses! Snickers for no bake snickers pies, Hershey's for smores, brownies, or ice cream chunks. Reeses for cookies, ice cream oh good golly the possibilities are endless! Don't go crazy but definitely consider what do I plan to make?! Can I incorporate any of this into it? I set aside a couple bags of M&Ms and figure I can definitely plan to make a chex mix and cookies out of them at the least!!

Hope you found a couple of these suggestions helpful and if you did, be sure to share and like us on Facebook to catch the next post!
